Vancouver’s Emily Carr University of Art and Design is offering an exciting new series of continuing studies courses this month. Curated by Laura Kozak, Design in the Field is a series of collaborative design-based courses, workshops and events.

The 2011 GMU Elements of Design grad show took place April 26 in the heart of the Robbins Health Learning Centre at the Grant MacEwan City Centre Campus. Designed by Kasian Architecture to meet LEED standards, the Robbins was a perfect fit for the showcase of a new crop of up-and-coming design thinkers. Each year the number of talented grads seems to grow and 2011 was no exception. Of the 60 accomplished graduates that showed at this years’ event, Display chose to showcase four students that encapsulate MacEwan’s passion for the practice of design.
