About

With an emphasis on Canada’s grassroots design community, DISPLAY seeks to showcase the culture of design.
When we began this project, we had one goal in mind: to work on a project we truly believed in, that reminded us why we’d become designers in the first place. To create, and to love what we do.
So far, it has been quite the love affair. The whole way up, we’ve been boosted by an amazing community and an admittedly strong Alberta base. Alberta may not be the first noun that comes to mind when thinking about design, but the creative people in this province are not only passionate about what they do, but about the collective creative capitol of the province. This desire to build a strong, successful creative community is the reason DISPLAY exists.
DISPLAY online is a fast paced, daily extension of the magazine. This design portal will feature posts from Canada’s passionate and talented design community. Much like the magazine, DISPLAY online will approach the design blog world with a thoughtful and open-minded gaze, aiming to explore all aspects of design, and a diverse range of disciplines. We will feature up and coming, experimental, and more established Canadian designers, illustrators, photographers, and writers from coast to coast in our daily feeds, monthly interviews, and design directory.
As editors of DISPLAY, we are setting out to produce a dialogue that is consistently eclectic and inspiring. A conversation that pushes the boundaries of contemporary design by exploring all aspects of the discipline, and by allowing creative people to do what they do best: create. To paraphrase our mission statement, DISPLAY truly is made by designers, for designers. Issue by issue, it will expose anything and everything about design in Canada. Let the love affair continue.
